Rich Man’s Rigatoni

Gluten Free Rigatoni with 2 types of meat, cheese and a robust tomato sauce.

I remember perfecting this dish and the joy that it brought to my family! As a pasta loving family it was so difficult to learn that several of us suffered from gluten intolerance. I couldn’t imagine never eating pasta, bread, cake, cookies or gravies. All of it previously laden with gluten but now happily I have found so many gf options that i started loving exploring all the pasta dishes I could find. This one is called Rich Man’s Pasta because it has 2 meats, 2 cheeses, red wine and herbs that just makes you feel like you are royalty when you have it as a meal. Please feel free to substitute any ingredient to your family’s particular health needs. If wine is not used in your house chicken stock is a tasty alternative to the wine used here. Recipe and instructions

1 pound ground beef

1-pound Italian sausage

24 oz pasta sauce

1 TBS oregano

1 TBS thyme

1TBS red pepper flakes

1 TBS Italian seasonings blend

1 chopped onion

1 cup red wine

Directions

Brown ground beef and Italian sausage along with chopped onion skillet. Add in herbs and red wine to deglaze the pan.

Next add your pasta sauce and simmer until bubbling and then add in your cooked rigatoni. Add your mozzerella and optional parmasean. Cover dish simmer on low for 10 minutes until cheese is melted.

Serve with basil or other fresh herbs to garnish. Enjoy!
