Rice Crispy Treats

Rice Crispy Trick Or Treats

Rice Crispy Treats for October Festivals

Oh the memories of stuffing your face until your stomach could just about pop on October 31. We didn’t celebrate Halloween, but we did have Autumn Festival at church. Dressing up like bible characters or something cute or funny. No scary costumes allowed! We had Trunk or Treats in the church parking lot, corn mazes to get lost in, carving pumpkin contests and then it was inside for fun and games. Pin the face on the Pumpkin, Bobbing for Apples, and donut on a string games. It was always fun and there were prizes for best dressed and best carved pumpkins.

It never failed the tables were lined with fabulous treats and every kid ran to get their favorites. You had to be fast because Rice Crispy Treats were always the first to go!

As I got older and had children of my own, I experimented with the recipe to make it gluten free and pretty. I found most cereal companies came out with a Halloween edition and so for this recipe I used the purple and orange Fruity Pebbles. It has the same texture and a hint of fruit flavor. Top them off with candy pumpkins and I got two thumbs up from all the neighborhood kids! I’m absolutely sure your family will love these too.

Be safe out there and have your own treats!
