Texas Southwestern Steak Sandwich
Texas Southwestern Steak n Pepper sandwich is in every steak house, grill and diner in Texas. I lived in San Antonio and wow can Texans eat!!! Some of the best brisket I’ve ever had, just south of Fort Sam Houston! They would spend days smoking a brisket or roasting meat on a spit for hours and if you have the time to do all that then I say you have a good life! Here at my home, we don’t have the time or space to do the traditional slow smoked BBQ style cooking, but I think you will agree that this sandwich is fantastic and the next best thing to being in a Texas diner there is!
Seasoned steak, grilled onions and peppers, smoked gouda and a fresh baked hoagie. Feel free to use whatever cheese you have. The easier it melts the better it is for this sandwich. Gouda, Mozzarella, provolone are just a few that would taste delicious on this sub! It’s the best sub you will ever eat in my opinion!! Come on y’all let’s get cooking!
